Principal investing

We will on occasion invest as principal in a client. Typically, we get involved through the purchase of founders’ shares or by participating in a Series A-round financing or private placement of public company equity. While not core to our advisory business, we have found that such investment provides a basis for enduring client relationships through the alignment of long-term, mutual incentives. Conversely, we seek to avoid those situations where our activity as a principal creates a conflict. Always, we place the needs of our clients first and foremost.

BioView Ltd. is an Israel-based developer and manufacturer of an innovative and highly regarded cell diagnostic system for use in cytology, cytogenetics, hematology, and pathology. The company is focused on the cancer monitoring and cytogenetics markets. Current solutions include tests for leukemia, multiple myeloma, bladder cancer, rare cell detection, and breast cancer. BioView is the technical leader in these markets providing one of only a few FDA-approved systems for analysis utilizing fluorescent in-situ hybridization. This technology is unique in that it allows the pathologist and scientist the ability to simultaneously analyze the same cell for both morphology and genetic content at significantly higher throughputs than are achievable with alternative technologies.

Mendel Biotechnology, Inc. is a pioneer in the application of functional genomics to the study of plants.
